The municipality is holding a public open house on its draft agricultural plan on Tuesday, Sept. 13 at the Ladner Community Centre.
The purpose of the open house is to provide an overview of the Delta Agricultural Plan and provide opportunities for questions and comments.
Delta is currently developing an agricultural plan with overarching goal of ensuring the long-term viability of agriculture in Delta. To achieve this goal, the agricultural plan will identify actions and innovative approaches to support and maintain a strong and sustainable agricultural industry.
The agricultural plan will primarily focus on land designated as agriculture in Delta's Official Community Plan and properties within the Agricultural Land Reserve. Council has asked Delta's Agricultural Advisory Committee to provide advice and guidance in the development of the plan.
Since April 2010, Delta staff and the advisory committee have been working with consultants on the plan.
The open house will take place at 4734-51 St. from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m..
