2013 is a special year for the Delta Police Department as we celebrate our 125th anniversary.
What makes this year exceptional is the unique relationship we have with the public we serve. Policing in Delta is based on a partnership between the community and the police, which is built on a foundation of trust and respect. Our successful history can, in many ways, be attributed to the significant support we receive from you, our partners in public safety.
Delta Police Department is defined not by any individual person or circumstance but by the millions of hours of police work in our never-ending drive toward making Delta a safer and better place. We solve homicides and raise money for juvenile cancer. We run seasonal CounterAttacks and coach high school soccer teams.
We arrest and charge drug dealers and serve Christmas dinner to those who are less fortunate. We are a part of this community and this community is a part of us.
In reflecting on the work of the Delta Police Department, I am honoured and proud to be a part of this outstanding team. As we wind up our 125th anniversary, I extend my
gratitude to the staff and volunteers of the Delta Police Department for their work in commemorating the rich history of community policing in Delta.
