Hwy 99 will be closed overnight on Sunday for BC Hydro to relocate an electrical line.

Highway 99 at Steveston Interchange is closing overnight again on Sunday, March 5, for crews to relocate a power line.

The full closure will take around two hours and is expected to happen between 11 p.m. and 4:30 a.m. The highway will be fully open by 5 a.m. on Monday.

The closure is to allow for the continuation of work moving BC Hydro's east-west distribution line to make room for the construction of the new interchange.

Traffic will be detoured up and over existing on- and off-ramps during the closure, and short-term traffic stoppages on the ramps may be necessary.

Drivers are advised to expect minor delays and use caution through the detour. Emergency responders, residents and businesses will continue to have access throughout the process.
