Pat Quinn’s Restaurant and Bar at Tsawwassen Springs has made the decision to temporarily close following a staff member having a confirmed case of COVID-19.

General manager Sue Carlile told the Optimist Monday afternoon that the employee, who is now in self-isolation, attended work last week, but was asymptomatic at the time.

The employee, who went through a daily temperature check, started showing symptoms from coronavirus after their last shift.

Working with Fraser Health, the restaurant, although not ordered to do so, made the decision to close as of Saturday, Dec. 12, out of an abundance of caution and have a company come in to do a thorough sanitization.

The restaurant, which is expected to open back up later this week, has been following rigorous protocols, which includes all employees wearing personal protective equipment, noted Carlile, adding they want to ensure the public gets clear information.

The golf course and other surrounding businesses remain open to the public.
