Police find remains at TFN home

Officers make the discovery while investigating missing person case

Delta police have discovered human remains at a Tsawwassen First Nation home.

Officers were at the unoccupied home in the 2000-block of Tsawwassen Drive investigating the case of a missing Surrey man when the discovery was made.

A/Sgt. Sarah Swallow said the 33-year-old man, whose name is not being released at this time, was reported missing in Surrey in January.

Delta police took over the investigation on Feb. 24 after it came to light that he was known to hang out in Delta. She said the investigation led officers to the home where the remains were found.

Swallow said the identity of the remains isn't known yet but did confirm there is a connection between the remains and the missing man, who is known to police.

She also said there does not appear to be any connection with the Tsawwassen First Nation, just that the man had been seen at the house in the past.

More information was expected to be released by police late yesterday afternoon.
