Police investigating North Delta shooting with possible gang ties

Delta police are investigating after several shots were fired at a vehicle in North Delta Tuesday night. At about 8 p.m. officers responded after receiving reports of shots fired in the 9200-block of 114th Avenue.

At about 8 p.m. officers responded after receiving reports of shots fired in the 9200-block of 114th Avenue.

"Upon investigation is was determined that an unknown suspect in a vehicle had fired several shots at another vehicle that had been driving in the area," said Delta police spokesperson Const. Ciaran Feenan.

None of the occupants of the targeted vehicle were injured.

Feenan said preliminary investigation into the incident has revealed that one of the occupants of the targeted vehicle is known to police and he has some known gang associations.

"Delta police believe that this was a targeted shooting and that there is no concern for the public's safety at this time," Feenan said.

Investigators are currently looking for the suspect vehicle, which is described as a small red sports car with tinted windows and a rear spoiler.
