Demolition of the former KFC building at the corner of Ladner Trunk Road and Arthur Drive began in earnest last Friday and continued into this week.
The Corporation of Delta bought the property from Shato Holdings last summer and took possession earlier this year.
The building was torn down to make room for a new right-turn lane on Arthur Drive to improve traffic flow at the intersection.
There are also plans to expand the adjacent Magee Park and improve the pedestrian walkway.
