The Corporation of Delta is shaking things up for Emergency Preparedness Week.
The municipality is kicking off Emergency Preparedness Week, which runs May 3 to 9, with a Quake Cottage event at Harris Barn in Ladner on Monday, May 4. The Quake Cottage simulates an earthquake and serves to spread awareness about preparedness, the importance of securing furniture and other items around the house or office, and to motivate the community to get prepared. The event will also feature information booths as well as a presentation, What Happens to Communities that Experience Earthquakes, by Stephanie Chang, a UBC professor.
The Quake Cottage event at Harris Barn is open to the public from 4:30 to 8 p.m.
