The face of the Delta Police Department is changing.

Spokesperson Sgt. Ciaran Feenan announced this week he is taking on a different role in the department and A/Sgt. Sarah Swallow will be the new media relations officer.

Swallow was initially hired by the Delta police as a communications officer with the dispatch unit. In addition to taking 911 calls and dispatching officers, she trained several newly

hired dispatchers.

In 2006, Swallow joined the department's reserve constable program and was hired as a regular officer later that year. She completed training at the Justice Institute of B.C. in 2007.

Swallow is a certified field trainer and has been the primary field training officer for many new recruits.

Prior to taking over the role of media liaison officer, she was acting sergeant of a platoon.
