Second dose COVID-19 vaccination rate slowing for Burnaby children aged 5-11

Burnaby holds the second-highest rate in Fraser Health at 35%

Almost 30% of children aged 5-11 have received their first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine.

Second COVID-19 vaccine doses are beginning to slow, according to provincial data.

According to the BC Centre for Disease Control's (BCCDC) Vaccine Progress by Local Health Area, 35% of children in the age group of 5-11 and eligible in Burnaby have received a second dose against the infection. 

Burnaby holds the second-highest rate in Fraser Health behind New Westminster (37%).

Second dose vaccination rates in Fraser Health for eligible children aged 5-11 as of March 1, 2022, are as follows:

  • New Westminster - 37%
  • Burnaby - 35%
  • Tri-Cities - 33%
  • South Surrey/White Rock - 32%
  • Delta - 32%

  • Langley - 23%
  • Chilliwack - 19%
  • Surrey - 18%
