Shato Holdings is proposing two new large, narrow towers in Vancouver

Local businessman Ron Toigo is proposing a major redevelopment for Vancouver’s downtown.

His company Shato Holdings recently unveiled preliminary designs for a redevelopment of his existing White Spot restaurant in the 1600 block of West Georgia Street.

The proposal is for a 33-storey and a 39-storey condo tower that would have total of 350 units.

Most of the units would have two bedrooms or larger, between 855 to 1,342 square feet.  The one bedroom units would be about 500 square feet.

Shato Holdings is also behind the recently completed Spot on Cambie condominium development at West 12th and Cambie Street in Vancouver.

Following a public hearing last month, meanwhile, Delta council gave conditional approval to a 60-unit townhouse addition proposed by Shato Holdings for its Tsawwassen Springs development.

The townhouses, a tennis court and other amenities would be built immediately west of the current development on a 2.55-hectare (6.3-acre) site in the Agricultural Land Reserve but not actively farmed.

The two- and three-storey townhouses would be a mix of eight types ranging from 1,414 square feet to 1,838 square feet and have similar designs to buildings in Tsawwassen Springs.

The application also requires Agricultural Land Commission and Metro Vancouver approvals.

Developed by Talisman Homes and Shato Holdings, Tsawwassen Springs will eventually have over 500 housing units, from condos to single-family, once all phases are completed.
