A large ship crashed in Roberts Bank while attempting to dock early Friday morning.

At around 1 a.m. a cape sized vessel attempting to dock at Westshore Terminals' Berth 2 took down a large portion of causeway, possibly 200 to 300 feet or more, said Ray Dykes, public affairs consultant with Westshore.

There were no injuries, nor apparent significant damage to the ship, he said.

The causeway leads out to Berth 1. He noted no damage was done to Berth 1 but it did lose power, which crews are now working to restore.

"We're doing everything we can to get that berth operational again as quickly as possible. We haven't shut down. We've got one berth operating," he said.
