Small plane makes emergency landing on Highway 91

A small commuter plane made an emergency landing on Highway 91 between 72nd and 64 th avenues early Wednesday evening. It was reported the pilot, who was the only occupant, suffered minor injuries when the plane landed in the southound lanes.

The incident happened around 6:30 p.m. as the rush hour was dying down. The plane's nose ended up on the concrete median.

The southbound lanes were closed for several hours and traffic diverted up 72nd Avenue. Northbound traffic on Highway 91 was down to a single lane. Delta police at around 9 p.m. issued an advisory that the plane was moved and traffic open again in both directions.

The cause is unknown at this time, Delta Police said via Twitter.
