South Coast Casuals will be hosting its fourth clothing drive this Saturday to benefit Dress for Success Vancouver.
The event, which will run from 9:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., will support Dress for Success' efforts to empower women to look and feel their best. Dress for Success Vancouver promotes the economic independence of disadvantaged women by providing professional attire, a network of support and the career development tools to help women thrive in work and life.
Each Dress for Success client receives a suit for her interviews and a small working wardrobe when she gets her job. The suits given to clients symbolize the faith that Dress for Success has in every woman's ability to succeed.
Individuals are asked to donate clean, gently worn women's clothing, purses and shoes that are suitable for job interviews and work environments. Dress for Success has an increased need for purses and handbags that are suitable for the office environment.
Each individual who donates items will receive a thank you gift from South Coast Casuals and be entered in a draw for a $150 South Coast Casuals gift certificate.
South Coast Casuals has collected over 2,500 pieces of clothing, 450 handbags and 250 pairs of shoes through its previous three clothing drives.
The family-owned store, at 5028-48th Ave. in Ladner Village, has been committed to giving back to the community and beyond for the past 18 years.
