Those who have lost their jobs or have had to stay home to care for children could be facing financial stress, including feeling the pinch of not having enough groceries.

The food bank announced this week that any resident of Ladner, Tsawwassen or the Tsawwassen First Nation that has proof of layoff is welcome to use the food bank until the pandemic is over and they are back to work. No other questions will be asked.

The food bank is open every Wednesday from 9 to 11 a.m. It’s located on the Lighthouse Church property at 5545 Ladner Trunk Rd.

The food bank has implemented social distancing and sanitizing protocols in order to remain open during the pandemic.

Organizers are grateful for the many local residents and businesses who have anticipated the need and forwarded donations in person and online.
