The Optimist would like to correct statements made in Nicholas Wong's Community Comment published on Friday, July 21.
A quote attributed to Delta South MLA Ian Paton about redacting documents was taken out of context as Paton's reference to redacted documents was specific to a project going to tender, at which time the financial information is removed in order not to give any particular bidder an advantage.
Paton also did not suggest that seismic upgrades proposed for the George Massey Tunnel were "prohibitively expensive."
The Optimist and Wong apologize for the errors in the column.
