Cam Taylor recorded six points and Mike Berekoff added four as the Ladner Pioneers capped a busy stretch to open the West Coast Senior Lacrosse Association season with a 9-6 win over Port Moody on Monday night.

It was the Pioneers third game in four days and a small roster made the early challenge a difficult one.

Ladner had just 14 runners for their opening 19-12 loss to the North Shore Indians last Friday. Mike Berekoff, Jesse Rumero and Eamon Butler were the offensive leaders.

Less than 24 hours later, the Pioneers were in Nanaimo where they battled back to earn a 9-9 draw in a chippy affair. Cameron Kirkbride and Rumeo led the attack.
