The latest COVID-19 numbers for the City of Delta, schools

The province notes that it will update the vaccine program as more people become eligible and more vaccines are approved. That includes integrating people 12-to-17 years old, now that the Pfizer BioNtech vaccine has been approved for use in that age group.

The number of COVID-19 cases, after moving downward for a couple of weeks in the City of Delta, has moved back up.

According to the B.C. Centre for Disease Control's weekly COVID-19 community map released Thursday, which covers the period April 25 to May 1, Delta had 220 people infected.

Meanwhile, Surrey was at 1,671 cases, Richmond at 184, Langley at 225, Abbotsford at 498, Vancouver at 719 and Burnaby at 413 cases.

Meanwhile, seven Delta schools are on Fraser Health’s latest list of schools that have had recent COVID-19 exposures.

The list, updated Thursday on the health region’s website, includes Delta Secondary (April 23), Pebble Hill Elementary (April 26, 27, 28), Cougar Canyon Elementary (April 22), Gibson Elementary (April 26, 27, 28), North Delta Secondary (April 23, 26, 27, 28, 29), Sands Secondary (April 23) and Immaculate Conception Elementary (April 27, 28).
