A pioneer of the Canadian cable industry, Thomas established Delta Cable Communications Ltd. in 1966

Let’s go back to January of 1972 when the new Delta Cablevision building on Ladner Trunk Road was under construction.

Pictured is company owner Stan Thomas discussing the progress with building foreman Bill Farnell, who said the building was tentatively set to open in early March of that year.

The new facility was to contain a studio and a control room, providing Delta residents with local news and programming. It ended up opening in mid-August of that year.

EastLink took over ownership of Delta Cable in 2007, just a few months after the founding Thomas family sold the company to Persona. Persona was then acquired by Bragg Communications, which operated EastLink.

In 2018, Delta Cable customers were notified they would no longer be able to pay their bills or deal with a service issue in-person at the company’s Ladner Trunk Road office.

Two years ago, Eastlink celebrated the re-opening of the retail location.
