Even a locked bike is not immune to theft so use the strongest lock you can carry, such as a U-Lock.
Lock your bike to a sturdy, immovable metal object.
Take your bike inside wherever possible.
Remember: quick release parts (such as saddles and wheels) are easily removed and easy to steal.
Secure your bike through the frame rather than a removable wheel.
Personalize your bike so it is easily recognizable. To help police identify stolen bikes: Record the serial number of your bike or engrave it in a hidden place.
Report any stolen bikes to police so they can be identified as stolen property and traced if located.
