Vehicle ends up getting towed after someone loosens lug nuts

The following are some of the calls of interest the Delta police department responded to in the South Delta area between Wednesday, Nov. 30 and Sunday, Dec. 4:

Tsawwassen

. November 30, 8: 32 a.m., 1600-block of Beach Grove Road: Police in the area noticed several personal items on the ground beside a parked vehicle.

The owner of the vehicle indicated he had left his car unlocked and sometime overnight it had been entered by unknown persons. Nothing of value stolen.

. December 1, 9: 07 p.m., 1300-block of 56th Street: Police received a report there was a loud humming noise coming from the auto parts store. Police investigated and found a carpet cleaning company was working in the store and advised them of the noise bylaw. The company indicated it had finished that part of the job and the noise has stopped.

. December 3, 12: 44 p.m., 1300-block of Duncan Drive: Complainant left his unlocked vehicle parked in his driveway. Sometime overnight someone entered the vehicle and stole an aluminum flashlight, amber Maui Jim sunglasses, and a brown wallet containing driver's licence and $40 cash. Total value of goods stolen: $400.

. December 3, 11: 19 p.m., 1500-block of 56th Street: Report received that a male was observed lurking about the thrift shop and the sound of breaking glass was heard. The suspect was dressed in a black hoodie and blue jeans. Police responded with the K9 tracking dog but no suspect found.

. December 4, 9: 14 a.m., 500-block of Milsom Wynd: Sometime overnight the complainant's outdoor Christmas lights were vandalized. The suspect attempted to pull the lights down from the residence but was unsuccessful.

Ladner

. November 30, 3: 32 p.m., 5300-block of 44th Avenue: Complainant left her residence locked when she left to run errands. When she returned she found the side door was open and several items were moved or missing.

Police found a window had been smashed and seized several items to be checked for fingerprints. Value of stolen items: $937. Damage to the home: $300.

. December 2, 9: 29 a.m., 4600-block of 51st Street: Complainant left his car parked in front of the secondary school while he was attending a function in the school. When the complainant drove his vehicle home the front tire came loose and the vehicle had to be towed. It appeared that while the vehicle was parked someone had loosened the lug nuts on the rear passenger tire.

. December 3, 11: 12 a.m., 5500-block of 49th Avenue: The carport of the complainant was entered and vandalized sometime overnight. Police found red paint had been spilled in a circular pattern on the driveway and sidewalk. The neighbour's driveway was also affected. The complainant provided information regarding a possible suspect but a police check cleared the suspect.

. December 4, 10: 55 a.m., 5200-block of Westminster Avenue: Complainant reported that sometime overnight her residence had been egged. No damage to the home.

. December 4, 10: 49 a.m., 4800-block of Georgia Street: Complainant left her locked vehicle in the parking lot. When she returned she found someone had entered the vehicle and stolen the stereo faceplate, registration papers and an Alpine sub-woofer with amp valued at $500. No video surveillance and no witnesses.

. December 4, 1: 33 p.m., 4800-block of 53rd Street: Complainant reported her boyfriend's bag of hockey equipment, valued at $500, had been stolen from the underground parkade. No suspects or witnesses.
