Top Delta bureaucrat honoured for 45 years of service

Delta chief administrative officer George Harvie was presented with an award last month from the International City/County Management Association in recognition of his 45 years of service to local governments.

Delta chief administrative officer George Harvie was presented with an award last month from the International City/County Management Association in recognition of his 45 years of service to local governments. Mayor Lois Jackson presented the award during the last Delta council meeting of 2015. Harvie, a long-time South Delta resident, joined the Corporation of Delta as CAO in 2001. Prior to that, he spent more than 30 years with the City of Burnaby in a variety of senior executive positions, including deputy city manager.
