The City of Delta has begun gathering feedback on a new townhouse application in Ladner.

Located at 4900 Central Ave., behind the Trenant Park Square shopping mall, the proposed 40-unit development would consist of six, three-story buildings, 80 residential parking spaces and nine visitor parking spaces. Vehicular and pedestrian access to the development would be from Central Avenue.

According to the planning department, the rezoning proposal is consistent with the site’s designation under the current Official Community Plan (OCP).

The planning department also points out that, under new provincial legislation, Delta is prohibited from holding a public hearing for bylaw amendments for residential or mixed-use applications that are consistent with the OCP.

Still at the public notification stage, the application, called Wildwood Townhouses, has not gone to council for consideration.
