Vandals struck again in South Delta over the weekend.

Sometime on Saturday night, someone broke the limbs off young trees along 54A Street between Ladner Trunk Road and 47A Avenue.

It was reported to Delta police Sunday morning.

Sgt. Sarah Swallow said there was no evidence left behind and no one in the neighbourhood heard or saw anything overnight.

"This is just another example of wanton, reckless destruction of property that is so frustrating to residents and police," she said. "In this case, there is no other purpose for this other than sheer vandalism."

Anyone with information about the incident is asked to call Delta police at 604-946-4411.

Earlier this month, vandals set several small fires in a Tsawwassen neighbourhood, destroying recycling bins, garbage cans, and damaging landscaping and driveways.

The suspects had walked a loop around the 5600-block of 10A, 10 and 9A avenues lighting random recycling boxes on fire. One resident in the area said upwards of 15 fires were set.
