Seventy-five officers from a variety of agencies were out on Delta roads this week to inspect commercial vehicles in the Delta Police Department's annual blitz.

Cole Delisle, acting regional manager with the Ministry of Transportation's Commercial Vehicle Safety and Enforcement Branch, said each truck that passed through one of the eight sites was given a preliminary visual inspection. From there, any that looked like they could have a problem were put through a second, more thorough inspection. Delisle said the most common issues include defective brakes, insecure loads and defects to the suspension, although he added they do see a lot of "quality trucks" on the road.

Results of the bltiz will be available next week.
