The Tsawwassen Farmers Market opens its third year this Friday and big changes are afoot.

The market will move to the RE/Max Progroup Realty courtyard parking lot and run on Fridays, from 3 to 7 p.m., until Oct. 14.

The market will host an average of 30 booths, virtually tripling the number of vendors that attended in previous years.

In addition to fresh, local produce, gourmet chef products and traditional farm market fare, there will be live music, food trucks on rotation and a children's activity booth.

"We are grateful to so many for facilitating this transition," says market manager Anne Janzen, "to the Tsawwassen BIA for their advice and support, to RE/Max Progroup Realty for so generously offering to host the market and to the medical centre across the street for providing their convenient parking lot to our customers."

The market is located at 5360-12th Ave.

"We very much look forward to building a market that not only meets the needs of health conscience and discerning shoppers, but will prove to be a community destination where folks can catch up with old friends and kick off the weekend," says Janzen.

The Tsawwassen Farmers Market is produced by Farm Fresh Events, which also operates markets in North Delta and Richmond.
