Tsawwassen’s Pat Cash has developed a free app that will help golfers enjoy the game more.

Tsawwassen's Pat Cash has created an app for golfers.

The free app for Apple's iPhone is geared towards helping golfers enjoy the game more, said the 78-year-old.

It has tips to help golfers with relaxation, awareness, use of their feet and trust.

"When swinging a golf club, it's essential to be relaxed," says Cash.

The app, called RAFT, also has diagrams and pictures.

After playing 18 holes, users are asked a few questions and the information is stored for 30 rounds. Cash says the app calculates a golfer's performance based on the information provided.

Cash has been golfing for 40 years and still gets out to play despite problems with arthritis.

He says developing the app was a satisfying challenge and that no matter how old you are, you should keep looking for challenges. He got some programming help from Joe Galat, a high school IT teacher.

Cash might look at developing the app for Android devices as well.
