Video: Port Moody restaurant targeted by thief twice in the same night

Port Moody police say there's been six break-ins in the city's downtown neighbourhood in the past month

Port Moody police (PMPD) are hoping CCTV footage might help lead to the arrest of a suspect after a restaurant in the city’s downtown was recently broken into twice in less than eight hours.

The suspect made off with a number of electronic devices in two visits — once at around 11 p.m. on Tuesday, April 9, and again at 6:30 a.m. Wednesday, April 10.

PMPD spokesperson Const. Sam Zacharias said the suspect is described as a Caucasian male with long, dark hair tied into a bun. He’s also wearing glasses and a puffy jacket and he was carrying a backpack.

Zacharias added six businesses, parkade storage units and a construction site in the Moody Centre neighbourhood have been broken into in the past month.

“We are asking the public to report any suspicious activity to us right away,” he said in a news release, adding the department has stepped up patrols in the area.

Anyone with information about any of the break-ins can contact investigators at 604-461-3456 or email [email protected].
