A beaver trying to cross a busy section of Highway 91 caused a bit of a stir last week.
According to Delta police, on March 17 just after 4 a.m., a complainant reported a large beaver attempting to cross Highway 91 in the 7000 bloack and was concerned that the sheer size of the beaver would cause drivers to swerve and possibly cause an accident.
“Prior to police attendance the male was able to escort the unruly creature back to safety,” said Delta police. “Police attempted to locate the beaver and the dam, but were unsuccessful due to the dense brush and grass. The complainant believed that the beaver likely was unfamiliar with the area and attempted to cross due to confusion.”
