The North Vancouver Wolf Pack pulled within a point of Delta with a 2-1 victory on Tuesday night in Ladner. The third place Richmond Sockeyes sit six points back but enjoy a whopping five games in hand.

Daniel Tait's second period power play goal provided the difference as North Van enjoyed 10 man advantage opportunities on the night compared to just three for the Ice Hawks. The locals spent half of the second period alone killing off penalties.

The visitors took a 2-0 lead into the final 20 minutes when Tanner Gattinger finally put Delta on the scoreboard.

Scott Lapp was solid in a losing cause, making 33 stops. The Ice Hawks travel to North Delta on Saturday night (7:15 p.m.) to take on the Devils, then return home Tuesday to host the Port Moody Panthers at 7:30 p.m. Icing... The Hawks' schedule over the holidays includes consecutive on Saturday night home games to avoid Christmas Eve and New Year's Eve. The league-leading Aldergrove Kodiaks are in town Dec. 21 at 7:45 p.m. and the Ridge Meadows Flames visit Dec. 28 at the same time.
