Young entrepreneurs to address chamber luncheon

Young entrepreneurs Barry Hartman and Scott Foran will be the guest speakers at a Delta Chamber of Commerce luncheon later this month.

The South Delta Secondary grads started 505-Junk, a rubbish removal and recycling business, in 2011. The chamber website states the business has recycled more than 150,000 pounds of waste to date.

505-Junk is also a finalist for a Best Community Impact Award as part of the Small Business B.C.

Successful You Awards. The award recognizes businesses that demonstrate a positive impact and positive action to invest in the community in which they operate.

The entrepreneurs were also nominees for the Rising Star Award at the 2012 Delta Chamber of Commerce Hats Off to Excellence Awards.

The luncheon is scheduled for Thursday, Jan.

31 from 11: 30 a.m. to 1: 30 p.m. at the Coast Tsawwassen Inn. It costs $35 for chamber members and $45 for non-members.
