B.C. captures gold at 'State Wars'

Tsawwassen's Sam Kozlowski and Nick Wicks helped Team B.C. '98 inline roller hockey team capture gold at the recent "State Wars" United States Roller Hockey Championships in St. Louis.

The B.C. "Dream Team" comprised of players from South Delta, Langley and Prince George made it a clean sweep by winning all seven games by a resounding margin.

B.C. finished round-robin play with a perfect 4-0 record, crushing the opposition 32-6.

The championship game saw B.C. outshoot Florida 203 en route to a 6-2 victory. It was sweet revenge for Team B.C., which lost to Florida in 2011 final with the winning goal coming with just 19 seconds remaining.

Both Kozlowski (defence) and Wicks (forward) were instrumental in paving the way gold, combining for 12 goals and nine assists.
