Bluebacks shine at Regionals

The Boundary Bay Bluebacks made a big splash at the Fraser South Regional Swimming Championships.

Ten Blueback swimmers qualified for this weekend's B.C. Summer Swimming Association's provincial championships in Coquitlam.

In Division One, Olivia Barber, continued her outstanding season by qualifying in three events - the 100 Individual medley, 50 breaststroke, and the 50 freestyle.

Aaron Thomson also continued his winning streak by qualifying in 100 IM, 50 free, 50 fly, and the 100 free. He is also a member of the Division 4 boys relay teams for the 200 free and the 200 medley.

Other members of the medley relay team are Max Redman, who also qualified individually in the 50 breast, Sam Bernard, and Jaxon Scholfield. The 200 Free relay team swimmers are Noah Enns, Jaxon, Max and Aaron.

Jacky Kam qualified in the 200 IM and the 100 Back. Mia Cender impressively advanced in four events - 50 free, 50 breast, 50 fly, and 100 free.

Rounding out the team are Boundary Bay Blueback coaches Francine deLotbinere-Basset who qualified in the 200 IM, 100 breast, and the 50 fly and Alyssia Hunchak who moved on in the 200 IM, 100 breast, and the 100 fly.
