Canadians look to gain ground in Castlegar

The Greater Vancouver Canadians have a good opportunity to gain ground in the ever-so-tight B.C. Major Midget Hockey League standings this weekend in Castlegar.

The Greater Vancouver Canadians have a good opportunity to gain ground in the ever-so-tight B.C. Major Midget Hockey League standings this weekend in Castlegar.

The regional rep team is headed east for a two-game series against the last place Kootenay Ice. The Canadians currently find themselves sitting in fourth place with a 9-5-4 record, five points back of the front-running Vancouver Northeast Chiefs. They are also just four behind the Cariboo Cougars and the Vancouver Northwest Giants. The Ice have annually struggled in the BCMMHL and this season is no exception. The hosts will be taking a 1-15-2 record into series.

The Canadians will return home next weekend to face the Okanagan Rockets in a pair of games at the Ladner Leisure Centre.
