Celtic cruise to tourney win at Bainbridge Island

U11 squad outscores opponents 42-4 en route to title

Ladner Celtic U11 boys development team launched their season in impressive fashion by capturing the Bainbridge Island Soccer Tournament.

The locals made the most of their trip to Washington State, stringing together four consecutive victories, while outscoring opponents 42-4.

They capped their run against teams from the across the Pacific Northwest with a 7-1 victory over the North Kitsap Havoc.

The theme of the tournament for the Celtic was ball possession and they displayed plenty of it. From the beginning of game one, Ladner was relentless in limiting scoring opportunities for their opposition.

"There was a genuine desire from the boys to play hard, stay focused, maintain a solid passing game and come home with the championship trophy. They were really resolute in their approach at this tournament" said head coach Jack Torok.

The U11 Celtic have become a well-travelled team in the past year with previous trips down south for tournaments Portland, Seattle and Las Vegas.

The team's roster includes: Evan Paterson, Josh Bermel, Zac Sherwin, Aman Hundal, Braedy Euerby, Samuel Wilkinson, Quinn Torok, Ben Kraemer, Jack Chadd, Nic Lanchester, Kian Mackie, Spencer Yesowick, Matt Willford and Ravail Nijjar.
