The South Delta Minor Hockey Association is $10,000 richer thanks to the South Delta Storm pee wee rep team being one of three national winners of Esso Medals of Achievement 30th Anniversary Contest.

The Storm was chosen among 18,000 entries from across the country and presented with the winning cheque by Imperial Oil Senior Territory Manager Rob Speirs at a special ceremony.

Every year, minor hockey teams (age six to 18) from across Canada register to receive three Esso Medals of Achievement (most dedicated, most improved and most sportsmanlike) and 18 certificates for their team.

This hockey season, to celebrate its 30th anniversary, the Esso Medals of Achievement donated $10,000 to three lucky minor hockey associations. Every team that registered qualified for a chance to win the grand prize draw. The Storm's entry was submitted by Michelle Luteijn.
