Delta Ringette is well-represented on the Lower Mainland U16 AA Thunder squad that soon will be heading to New Brunswick for the 2013 National Ringette Championships.

Taylor McIntosh, Dana Dunstand, Ingrid Bakke, Monica Salt, Arisa Cadeau, Jenna Suzuki and Cassie Dercaloustian are all members of the Thunder roster.

The Lower Mainland Ringette Association's AA program is for players that have excelled in their home association and are looking to compete against the highest caliber possible.

The U16 AA Thunder came first in their league this season. They also travelled to Edmonton where they took home gold in the Woods Tournament and then followed that up with another gold at the Pacific Ring Tournament in Richmond.

The girls recently travelled to Ottawa where they had an amazing showing, going 4-0 in round-robin play before losing in the semi-finals. They now have their sights set on winning gold in Fredericton

The AA program is 100 percent self-sustained where players and their parents incur all expenses throughout the year and are unable to rely on subsidies that other minor sports are accustomed to.

It is through donations and sponsorships that they are able to alleviate some of the cost to the parents. The trip to Nationals in Fredericton will exceed $56,000.

The U16AA Thunder graciously accept donations or sponsorship of any size to help their young athletes achieve their goal.
