Delta Falcons crowned U16 provincial champions

An unbeaten run at UBC has earned the Delta Falcons the U16 Provincial Tier 2 Championship. Delta Falcons are Field Hockey B.C.’s U16 Tier 2 Provincial Club champions after a triumphant run at UBC last weekend.

The Falcons reached the top of the podium thanks to a 2-1 win over the Vancouver Hawks in Sunday’s gold medal game. Maddy Plante notched Delta’s first goal on a penalty corner and Maggie Gower scored what proved to be the game winner.

The team’s run to the final included a trio of round-robin victories on Saturday.

Coached by Aimee Calder and Andy Gower, the Falcons’ roster also features Nina Dannhauser, Ashley Fincham, Georgia-Rain Shaw, Shae Berger, Reese Bruckshaw, Haeley Keen, Kassandra Sharpe, Paige Day, Georgia Roberts, Olivia De Albuquerque, Anna Sonnenberg, Amelia Holifield, Bronwyn Hodgins, Brooklyn Kuchma, Olivia Fuerniss, Olivia Glazier, Taite Cantlon, Teagan Alexander-Reid and goalie Celina Wahle.
