The 27th annual Delta Invitational attracted over 600 gymnasts from across the province and Washington State for three days of competition at the Ladner Leisure Centre.
The event showcased a range of athletes from the advanced recreational to national level, along with an audience of approximately 2,000 people. The meets highlight was the unique Cash and Carry Cup.
Its considered one of the most exciting competitions of the year where the playing field is made equal and athletes of all ages can compete at the same time. As an incentive, the gymnasts are competing for a $6,000 purse that can go toward training reimbursement.
The host club dominated the boys division, sweeping the top three all-round positions led by Michael Hood Jr., Daniel Braun and Chris Sheremeta respectively.
