Delta's Miranda Harris and Jessica Pastro are among five B.C. ringette players who have been invited to this weekend's Team Canada West training camp in Calgary.
The camp is initial preparation and player identification for the Canadian teams (Canada East and Canada West) that will be competing at the upcoming 2012 U19 World Ringette Championships. Additional camps are slated for August, October and November at yet to be determined locations. The World Championships will take place Dec. 28 to Jan. 3 in London, ON.
The U19 World Ringette Championship is an International Ringette Federation event. Finland White currently holds the world title after defeating Canada East at the inaugural U19 World Ringette Championship held in Prague, Czech Republic in 2009.
