Four Delta boys came home with medals from the seventh annual United States Roller Hockey Championship in Cincinnati, Ohio, earlier this month.
Max Kozlowski (Tsawwassen) and the rest of the AAA 1995 Team B.C. managed to go undefeated in the round robin and advance to the semifinal game against Florida.
Unfortunately, Team B.C. couldn't manage to score against the stronger Florida team and was defeated 3-0, sending it to the bronze medal game against Michigan, which it won a 4-2.
In addition to being chosen to the 1995 All-Star Team, Kozlowski also beat out all 1995 AAA players to win the shooting accuracy competition.
The AAA 1998 Team B.C. included three boys from Delta as well as others from Langley, Vancouver and Prince George. Brenn Traher (Ladner), Sam Kozlowski (Tsawwassen) and Nicholas Wicks (Ladner) all contributed to their team's success in the tournament.
Just like the 1995 team, the 1998 squad went undefeated in round robin play.
It later defeated Ohio 5-4 in the semi-finals to advance to the gold medal game against Florida.
Team B.C. dominated the first period and was ahead 4-2 with just under five minutes left in regulation time when Florida made a miraculous comeback to win 5-4.
Most commonly known as "State Wars," the United States Roller Hockey Championship features around 250 teams and some of the top inline hockey players in North America.
