A trio of local field hockey standouts saw double duty in helping Club India's U16 and U18 girls teams take top honours at the recent B.C. Club Championships.

Forward/midfielder Cailean Meredith, midfielder Cassidy Bremner and defender Monika Bains were busy running back and forth between both teams in Club India's quest for gold.

Meredith and Bremner are also part of the provincial U18 program that will be competing at the upcoming Senior National Championships in Surrey and the U18 Nationals in Calgary. Both were also members of the U17 national team that took on the United States in a test series this spring.

Bains will be busy this summer as a member of the U15 provincial program that will be competing at the U16 Nationals in Surrey in August.

Meredith attends South Delta secondary where she is a member of the powerhouse Sun Devils senior girls team. Bremner and Bains both attend Delta secondary.

Club India's U18 side also featured Lauren and Tara Boggs of Tsawwassen. Lauren shared the goaltending duties with Arun Kooner and helped her team not surrender a single goal throughout the championships, including a 2-0 win over the Delta Falcons in the gold medal game.
