Falconer representing Canada at trampoline event in Sydney

Ladner gymnast Brittany Falconer is in Australia this week representing Canada at the 2012 Indo Pacific Trampoline and Tumbling Championships.

Ladner gymnast Brittany Falconer is in Australia this week representing Canada at the 2012 Indo Pacific Trampoline and Tumbling Championships.

Falconer, who is a member of the Delta Gymnastics coaching staff, trains with the Shasta Trampoline based in New Westminster. She is one of a five Shasta athletes selected to participate in this competition.

Th Indo Pacific Championships are held every two years and was established to provide athletes from non-European countries an opportunity to compete in an international event. The meet is being hosted by Gymnastics Australia at the Sydney Olympic Park Sports Centre. The best trampoline athletes from countries along the Pacific and Indian Oceans are taking part.

Falconer and the rest of her Canadian teammates have received months of intensive training under the direction of Val Johnson, head coach and founder of Shasta Trampoline.

"All the athletes are excited and ready to compete at their best" says Johnson.

Curt DeWolff, a member of Shasta's coaching team, accompanied the athletes to Sydney.
