Five newcomers who are expected to make an impact with the Delta Ice Hawks this season: Scott Lapp (goalie): 17-year-old has enjoyed an excellent pre-season after seeing plenty of shots playing in Mission last year. Will be the Ice Hawks number one goalie with returnee Alex Anhert getting a late start to his season.

Mak Barden (forward): Surrey native should add scoring punch after playing in the B.C. Hockey League with Salmon Arm last season. Previously played in the B.C. Major Midget Hockey League with the Valley West Hawks.

Tanner Gattinger (forward): technically a rookie but this 6-foot-3 18-year-old was a frequent call-up last season, including the playoffs.

He dressed for eight post-season games and managed a goal.

Matt Dawson (defenceman): 16-year-old South Delta product has had an outstanding camp and should thrive being surrounded by a number of returning veterans on the blueline.

Michael Olson-Eyre (forward): Another local product who was second in scoring with the Major Midget Greater Vancouver Canadians last season.
