Five Sun Devils named to provincial all-star team

Five Sun Devils were named to the provincial "AA" all-star team including starting quarterback Kyle Menzies. The Grade 12 pivot has thrown for a school record 32 touchdown passes, along with 2,317 yards, in leading the Sun Devils to an overall 11-0 record. He also has tossed just two interceptions in 149 pass attempts. His favourite target David Mann was also recognized. He has 1,031 receiving yards on 47 catches.

Fifteen went for touchdowns.

Offensive lineman Rhys Weitzel was selected, along with defensive back Denis Oliveria and defensive lineman Rene Sencio.

Oliveria had five interceptions and 33 tackles, while Sencio is credited with a team-leading five quarterback sacks.

The Sun Devils face defending champion Mission Roadrunners at 3 p.m. on Saturday at B.C. Place Stadium.
