Giants open main camp Saturday

There will be plenty of action at the Ladner Leisure Centre as the Vancouver Giants kick off their main training camp Saturday as they prepare for the upcoming Western Hockey League season.

Hour long scrimmages get underway at 4 p.m. and conclude at 8: 45 p.m. More games are scheduled for Sunday, starting at 4 p.m. The highlight of the camp will be the Alumni Challenge inter-squad game on Wednesday at 7 p.m.

The Giants will play their first pre-season game on Friday, Aug. 31 against the Kelowna Rockets in Ladner at 7 p.m. Other games scheduled for the LLC include Sept. 7 against Kamloops (7 p.m.) and Sept. 14 against Victoria (5 p.m.). Tickets will be on sale at the door one hour before game time. The cost is $10 for adults and $8 for children under 12 and seniors.
