Giants training camp starts Wednesday in Ladner

The Vancouver Giants are excited to announce their schedule for its 2023 Training Camp, which is once again presented by Chevrolet.

This year’s camp will run from Wednesday, Aug. 30 through Saturday, Sept. 2 at the Ladner Leisure Centre.

Training Camp rosters will include returning players, prospects and free agent invites, who will be grouped into four teams for Friday’s intrasquad games: Team Byram, Team Gallagher, Team Kane and Team Lucic.

This will be the first Training Camp for 2023 first round selections Ryan Lin and Brett Olson, as well as the first camp for 2022 first rounder Aaron Obobaifo.

Full rosters for training camp will be announced at a later date.

On-ice action gets started on Thursday, Aug. 31 with practice at 11 a.m. The first intrasquad game will take place on Friday, Sept. 1 at 11 a.m. The annual Quinn/Howe Legends Cup will take place on Saturday, Sept. 2 at 6 p.m.

All practices and intrasquad games are open to the public for free.

Chevrolet Training Camp schedule:

Thursday, Aug. 31

Practice – 11 a.m.

2007-2008 Group Game – 4:30 p.m.

Friday, Sept. 1

Team Gallagher vs. Team Lucic – 11 a.m.

Team Byram vs. Team Kane – 1 p.m.

Team Gallagher vs. Team Byram – 3 p.m.

Team Lucic vs. Team Kane – 5 p.m.

Saturday, Sept. 2

Team Howe Skill Practice – 9:30 a.m.

Team Quinn Skill Practice – 10:45 a.m.

Quinn vs. Howe Legends Cup – 6 p.m.

The Giants will play three pre-season games in various arenas in the Greater Vancouver Area, beginning on Friday, Sept. 8 at Jon Baillie Arena in Port Coquitlam at 7 p.m. versus the Prince George Cougars.

The G-Men will also play the Victoria Royals at the Ladner Leisure Centre on Sunday, Sept. 10 at 4 p.m. and face off with the Kamloops Blazers on Saturday, Sept. 16 at 7 p.m. at Cam Neely Arena in Maple Ridge.
