Ice Army capture Seattle tourney

The South Delta Ice Army celebrated Martin Luther King Day Weekend with a gold medal win over the Langley Bulldogs in a nail biter shootout at the SnoKings Pee Wee "C" Hockey Tournament in Seattle, WA.

The South Delta Ice Army celebrated Martin Luther King Day Weekend with a gold medal win over the Langley Bulldogs in a nail biter shootout at the SnoKings Pee Wee "C" Hockey Tournament in Seattle, WA.

After losing to the Bulldogs earlier in the tournament, the Army advanced through their pool with three consecutive wins with a goal against of -2.

The Army moved onto the semi-finals and battled hard for a 1-1 tie in regulation, and then went on to upset the North Delta Demons in a thrilling shootout to earn a berth in the final cup game.

The team represented South Delta well, earning a sportsmanship point award in each game. Superb goaltending, great passing, blistering shots and the ability to clear its own end factored into the team's success.

The Ice Army are comprised of Andrew Hansen-Zerr, Alexander Luteijn, Trevor Glennon, Aydan Benning, Fraser Buck, Jeremy Gretsinger, Rowan Childs, William Bancroft, Quinn O'Connor, Joshua Holt, Ben Lingham, Nicolas Novakowski, Owen Papuc, Harman Khun-Khun, and Maverick Silveira.

The coaches are Rene Holt, Phil O'Connor ,Hart Buck and Cam Bancroft. The team is managed by Michelle Luteijn.
