South Delta Ice Army kicked off their season with a gold medal performance and a perfect record at the Coleton Nelson Memorial Tournament, held in Aldergrove/ Abbotsford over the Remembrance Day Weekend.
The Pee Wee "C" hockey team battled hard and went undefeated in its three games on the way to the semi-finals. Ice Army then beat Kelowna in a close, tight checking battle. In the championship game, the locals played extremely well as a team, had solid goaltending and was triumphant in a 3-2 nail biter against a strong Semiahmoo opponent.
The Ice Army is made up of Andrew Hansen-Zerr, Alexander Luteijn, Trevor Glennon, Aydan Benning, Fraser Buck, Jeremy Gretsinger, Rowan Childs, Will Bancroft, Quinn O'Connor, Joshua Holt, Ben Lingham, Nicolas Novakowski, Owen Papuc, Harman Khun-Khun, Maverick Silveira, and Marcus Beaulieu. The coaches are Phil O' Connor, Rene Holt, and Cameron Bancroft. The manager is Michelle Luteijn.
