Delta Islanders co-head coach and Canadian Lacrosse Hall of Fame will be guiding Team Australia at the 2019 World Junior Lacrosse Championships, slated for next August in Hamilton.

Andy Ogilvie has added to his coaching duties in 2019.

The co-head coach of the BC Junior “A” Lacrosse League’s Delta Islanders will over see Australia at the 2019 World Junior Lacrosse Championships, slated for next August in Hamilton, ON.

Over the last decade the domestic growth of box lacrosse in Australia has included training sessions, leagues, and most recently a lacrosse specific indoor facility. The resurgence has prompted interest to assemble an all-star cast of players from around the country to compete at the U20 World Juniors.

Other confirmed entries for this year’s tournament include Canada, United States and Iroquois. Two more are expected to be announced in the coming months.

Canada is the defending champion with a roster that included current Islanders Brody Harris, Haiden Dickson and Brandon Szabo. Harris was named to the All-Tournament Team.

Ogilvie is entering his second season behind the Islanders’ bench where he is joined by Kyle Goundrey.

The Canadian Lacrosse Hall of Famer’s decorated playing career included winning a pair of Minto Cups with Peterborough and time in the National Lacrosse League and Western Lacrosse Association. He won three Mann Cups and was named playoff MVP with the Coquitlam Adanacs in 2001.
